Tunisia and Nigeria Reaffirm Commitment to Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation

On May 7, 2025, Tunisia’s Foreign Minister, Mohamed Ali Nafti, spoke over the phone with Nigerian Foreign Minister Yusuf Tuggar to talk about moving their longstanding bilateral relations forward.

They highlighted the need to enhance cooperation in specific sectors including; agriculture, industry, energy, ICT, and in health. The two foreign ministers also underscored the importance of preparing for the Tunisian-Nigerian Joint Commission to reinvigorate their relations, championship professionalism to the FITA2025 forum in Tunis, and the need to enhance bilateral trade with the role of the private sector and in consideration of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), stated the Tunisian Foreign Ministry.

They exchanged views on the state of regional peace and security, and on greater coordination of actions in international organizations, and gave each other their assurances in support of their candidacies in various international institutions.
