BAKO MOTORS Launches New Electric Car Factory in Tunisia

On Thursday, August 29, 2025, Secretary of State for Energy Transition Wael Chouchane laid the foundation stone for a new BAKO MOTORS factory in Kalaat El Andalous, Ariana. The Tunisian company specializes in electric cars equipped with solar panels and other electric vehicles.

This factory, set to start production in late 2026, will create 500 jobs and produce up to 8,000 units annually, with 80% destined for export.

The project marks a major step in promoting clean mobility, renewable energy, and Tunisia’s green industry ambitions.
