Spain Cancels Major Arms Deal with Israel

The Spanish government has canceled an arms contract worth around €700 million ($825 million) with Israel, as part of a series of measures aimed at increasing pressure over its ongoing war in Gaza, Spanish media reported Tuesday.

The move follows Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez’s recent announcement that his government would enforce a legal ban on the sale or purchase of military equipment with Israel due to its offensive on Gaza.

According to La Vanguardia, Spain is also conducting a broader review to gradually phase out Israeli weapons and technologies from its armed forces.
