UK Reopens Skies to Pakistani Airlines After 5-Year Ban

The United Kingdom has lifted its five-year ban on Pakistani airlines, allowing them to reapply for flight operations. The ban, imposed in 2020 following a deadly PIA crash and a pilot licensing scandal, raised major safety concerns.

The British High Commission announced the decision on Wednesday, citing improvements in aviation safety by Pakistani authorities. The move follows similar action by the European Union and comes as Pakistan intensifies efforts to privatize its national carrier, PIA.
