A World First: Baby Born from 30-Year-Old Frozen Embryo

In a groundbreaking moment for reproductive medicine, a baby has been born from an embryo frozen in 1994. Thaddeus Daniel Pierce was delivered on July 26, 2025, in the United States, setting a new record for the oldest frozen embryo to result in a successful birth.

The embryo was adopted by Lindsey and Tim Pierce of Ohio, who had been trying to conceive for seven years. This historic birth proves that embryos can remain viable for decades, opening new possibilities in fertility treatments and embryo preservation.
