“The Unnamed” Officially Selected for Cairo International Film Festival

has been officially selected for the Short Film Competition at the 46th Cairo International Film Festival, where it will have its world premiere this November.

The emotionally driven narrative follows Jannah, a young girl whose life is turned upside down after her mother — a professional dancer — suffers a devastating collapse. As Jannah sets out to help her mother, she embarks on a deeply personal journey of rediscovery, resilience, and healing.

Produced by Red Star Films, in co-production with Figleaf Studios, A.A. Films, and B-Retta Film, the film brings together producers Baho Bakhsh, Safei Eldin Mahmoud, Mark Lotfy, Ahmed Amer, and Fady Gamal Atallah. The cast features rising talents Tia and Marwa Mustafa, alongside Nader Abol Leif.

With its premiere at one of the Arab world’s most prestigious festivals, “The Unnamed” marks a new milestone in contemporary Egyptian short filmmaking — blending personal storytelling with social and emotional depth.
