Tunisia and Canada Discuss Expanding Industrial and Energy Cooperation

Tunisian Minister of Industry, Mines and Energy, Fatma Thabet Chiboub, met on Tuesday with Canadian Ambassador to Tunisia Alexandre Kofi Bilodeau at the ministry’s headquarters to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation.

The meeting reviewed the long-standing and strong relations between the two countries, with a focus on expanding cooperation in the industrial sector, particularly agri-food industries, including boosting exports of packaged olive oil, and developing partnerships in the textile and clothing sectors.

The two sides also explored opportunities for cooperation in the mining sector, drawing on Canadian expertise, as well as the possibility of organizing training programs in the energy sector in the coming period.
