Tunisia to Participate in 39th African Union Summit in Addis Ababa

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad, Mohamed Ali Nafti, will lead the Tunisian delegation participating in the 48th Ordinary Session of the African Union (AU) Executive Council on 11–12 February 2026, and the 39th AU Summit of Heads of State and Government on 14–15 February in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

The Summit will mark the launch of the AU’s 2026 theme, “Assuring Sustainable Water Availability and Safe Sanitation Systems to Achieve the Goals of Agenda 2063.” Minister Nafti will also represent Tunisia at the Second Italy–Africa Summit on 13 February, focusing on strengthening Italian–African partnerships.

AU leaders will discuss key political, economic, and security issues, including institutional reform, peace and security in Africa, UN Security Council reform, and the AU’s role in the G20. The Summit will also oversee elections to the AU Peace and Security Council and address challenges related to development, regional integration, and inclusive growth.
