Tunisian Tourism Minister: “2026 Will Be the Year of Kerkennah”

Tunisian Minister of Tourism, Sofiene Tekaia, paid a two-day visit to the island of Kerkennah starting Monday, August 4, to assess the local tourism sector.

During his visit, the minister declared that 2026 will be “the year of tourism in Kerkennah.” He announced that new terms of reference for alternative tourism projects will be issued in the coming period. These projects, he noted, will form a key pillar in developing a sustainable and ecotourism-focused model for the region.
