Tunisian and Algerian Energy Ministers Discuss Power Grid Project

On January 27, 2025, Tunisia’s Energy Minister Fatma Thabet Chiboub met with her Algerian counterpart, Mohamed Arkab, during the African Summit in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

The ministers praised the strong bilateral ties in energy and mining and discussed enhancing cooperation in hydrocarbons, electricity, renewable energy, and mining.

They also reviewed progress on the tri-nation power grid project connecting Algeria, Tunisia, and Libya and explored collaboration on phosphate processing and training programs.
