Putin: “I Hope We Won’t Have to Use Our Nuclear Weapons”

Russian President Vladimir Putin, in a televised interview broadcasted on Sunday, said that Russia has the capability and weapons needed to defend itself against its adversaries, after being asked about continued Ukrainian attacks on Russian territory.

He added: « There is no need for us to use our nuclear weapons at this moment as we can bring the three year war to a logical end, » adding he hopes it won’t be necessary to reach for them.

Russia possesses the largest arsenal of nuclear weapons in the world, and under Putin, the rules for nuclear use were recently loosened in terms of the possibility of using them.
