Tunisian Health Minister on Official Visit to Algeria

Tunisian Minister of Health Mustapha Ferjani arrived in Algeria on February 1, 2026, on an official visit aimed at strengthening Tunisian-Algerian cooperation in the health and pharmaceutical sectors. The visit comes at the invitation of Algerian Minister of Health Mohamed Seddik Aït Messaoudane and reflects the commitment of both countries to deepening their strategic partnership.

The visit focuses on enhancing bilateral cooperation and exchanging expertise in pharmaceuticals, telemedicine, genomic medicine, communicable diseases, and promoting the “One Health” approach to address future health challenges.

On Monday, February 2, 2026, Minister Ferjani held a working meeting with Algerian Minister of Pharmaceutical Industry Wassim Kouidri to discuss ways to support local drug production and strengthen pharmaceutical security through practical cooperation.

The Tunisian delegation also visited Frater Razes laboratories and the National Saidal laboratories to review Algeria’s experience and explore opportunities for joint investment between stakeholders from both countries, with the aim of developing the sector and achieving shared pharmaceutical security.
