Tunisian Culture Minister Meets Indian Ambassador

Tunisian Minister of Cultural Affairs Amina Srarfi met on Wednesday, 11 February 2026, with India’s Ambassador to Tunisia, Devyani Uttam Khobragade, to discuss ways to strengthen cultural and artistic cooperation between the two countries.

The talks focused on practical initiatives, including artist residencies, training opportunities for young filmmakers, exchanges in music and cinema, and potential participation of an Indian orchestra conductor in a performance by the Tunisian Symphony Orchestra. Discussions also covered organising a cultural week highlighting Tunisian and Indian culinary heritage.

The two sides explored cooperation in visual arts, participation in the Tunis International Book Fair, and collaboration in children’s literature through the translation of stories into Arabic and Hindi.

Both parties stressed the importance of culture as a bridge for dialogue and agreed to work towards turning these proposals into concrete programmes to further deepen cultural ties between Tunisia and India.
